I was painting a lot in those days, in
my studio on Fourteenth Street. Some people called it the "ameoba

I convinced the guys, kids really, that ran the Lab
Gallery, a little hole on Divisadero doing "alternative" art, to give me
a show. They printed a nice postcard, below.

The opening was great. A lot of people came.
