"THE BOX LUNCH

GOES TO NEW YORK!"

70 WOOSTER STREET, SOHO

New York City, Fall, 1980

When I heard the news, I said,

"Hey!  Now she's on MY territory!"

We packed up our beautiful, pínk boxes and headed east!

    "Refreshingly irreverent ..."  -ARTWEEK

"... a 'Saturday Night Live' version of 'The Dinner Party'."  - SOHO NEWS

"... Mistress of the press release."  - SAN FRANCISCO BAY GUARDIAN

"For everyone who has ever complained that the women's movement has no sense of humor!"  - NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

"As an artist, I have been struggling to create a brilliant piece of art that will both honor these women and catapult me to national fame."

"I never expected her to come, but on opening night ..."

Lots of friends and celebraties showed up too ...

Including another of the "honored guests," our favorite, Edie Beale.  On seeing her box she said, "They really got me, didn't they?"

Then on the night of December 2,  a big storm blew through Soho, imperiling our beautiful laundry.

The gale winds and their effects even inspired a comic-book take-off.

The next day, the laundry was back in place and would be through the end of the show.

So thank you, friends, for visiting my Box Lunch one more time!
