TWOMBLY, CY

Well known abstract artist, born in Lexington, Virginia, 1928

            I always liked the work of Cy Twombly, active in the art scene during my formative years, the 50's and 60's.  I found him the best example of "pure drawing" and I would think of his work often while I was drawing.

Is that a window I see?  Gee, getting pretty realistic, aren't we, Cy?

In fact, I liked him so much I often found inspiration for my own drawings.  Here's a couple from 1988, below.
