From “The Memoirs, Chapter Three” -

            For heavy drama, I decided to portray the blind Hamm in Becket’s “Endgame,” thinking I could at least imitate Steve Knox’ great performance I had seen in Portland the year before.  Bob Gallaher played Hamm’s servant, Shep.

            Russell and Peggy played Hamm's old parents, sitting in cardboard trash bins, waiting to die.
